For the Salo area multiculturality
How did it all begin?
The first EtnoSalo Festival started on Friday, August 5, 2016 in the Vuohensaari Camping. The multicultural rhythms captured on the dance floor and in the theater gathered a crowd, foreigners living in the Salo area and tourists visiting the city.
EtnoSalo Festival 2016 was born in partnership with Halikko Music Association. The father of the idea, Gildas Houessou, who arrived in Finland from Benin in 2008, has taught African drum music for years. For Gildas, the idea of organizing a festival was born a couple of years ago when he wanted to create something new and interesting - and to carry out an event that connects people from around the world in Salo.
